I AM SOOOOO READT FOR SPRING!
All of my friends know that I knit. I mainly knit for others than for myself! I love trying new patterns and styles!
Wow, it seems like forever since i have been here! so much has happened.
i am the cookie mom for my daughter's troop and all i can say is "i'm in cookie hell".
She sold almost 400 boxes of cookies.
i still have another month left then i am done and can't wait. i have so many cookies staring at me. i can't stand it.
finished a pair of fingerless gloves for my secret sister. they turned out ok.
i am also working on a purple blanket for football. they just changed out colors on our team. football will be here before you know it.
well my baby is finally officially 12. we had a makeup party with 8 of her very best friends. they showed up and there was a long table with mirrors and little bowls of water with washcloths that were wrapped up with ribbons and little candles.
they had cucumber masks which were a hoot and they complained about peeling it off. it hurts! oh pleeeeeze!
then they got to put on the real stuff! MAKEUP. they looked a group of racoons.
mom had balloons and roses as well.
successful party!
Here we are in Dayton, Ohio for a jam fest. Mariah's squad tied for second place out of 7 teams!
GO AGENTS!
I made the santa hat!
This morning i got up and made some potato soup.
Here's the recipe:
5 or 6 med to large potatoes (i like red or gold yukon)
1 stick of butter
1 red bell pepper
1 leek
chicken broth
milk
I peel my potatoes and cook them in chicken broth.
Then i take a stick of butter and saute my leek and red bell pepper. If you don't have leeks, use green onions. The Leek has strong onion flavor.
after i saute the leek and red bell pepper i add some milk and then i puree.
i take the chicken broth and pour most of it out but leave some of it in. i take a masher and mash some of the poatoes and pour the puree in. then i season it with garlic pepper salt. i add more milk till you get the consistency that you want. voila.
it's really good especially on a cold day and very filling!
i have added pureed carrots and i added corn to the recipe as well. it's really good. you can add cheese too if you want. i am just trying to make it low cal beside the stick of butter.
I'm so excited. I delivered all of my gift bags at school yesterday to my teachers. i made those cloth bath robes over the bath and body soap dispensers. too cute!
one of the teachers ordered 2 scarves from me! then i had one teacher that wants me to make baby things for her. her daughter just found out she's pregnant. i told her to find out what the baby is first then see me.
i found some yummy fuschia chenille yesterday at hobby lobby. it was on sale for 2.99 a skein.
i'm off to knit!
