I am an Orthodox Metropolitan, and I believe that though there be many branches, there is only one Church.

Dear Friends:
It has been a weekend for the record books here in West Virginia.
Friday night, May the 8th, we got a phone call around Midnight. I hate phone calls in the middle of the night. It almost always is bad news, and this one was no different. William's Grandmother had passed away. We drove some 25+ miles to Charleston to be with the family. After 2 am we finally were allow to visit the deceased. We said some prayers, and just stood and viewed her now lifeless body. At last she was a peace.
Saturday was spent in getting things ready to make preparations, and then time just to collaspe. As a Metropolitan Archbishop, I was asked to conduct the services. Monday morning rolled around, and we made our way to the funeral home. The family's viewing time was from 1030am to 11am, and then the public was invited to spend time from 11am to 12 noon at which time, we began the service. Around 1230 we departed for Stowers grave yard, and at the mouth of the hollow, we had to shift into 4 wheel drive vehicles and begin the treacherous climb to the top of the mountain where the grave is located. A 15 minute service there, and the grandsons began to close the grave by hand. Two hours later, they along with others helping had managed to get her grave closed.
As if that was not enough, I spent the day tuesday on the couch sick as a dog, with throwing up and extreme lightheadedness.
WOW! What a week.

Greetings friends and loved ones:\
I cannot believe that in two weeks I will be retired with too much time on my hands. MMMMM
Maybe I will be able to get out and explore some. Not sure what is gonna happen. I was gonna work on for a while but the Big Lots was cutting my pay by 3 dollars and 12 cents. Just not worth my drive of 1 hour each way to work for $7 and hour.

Good Morning:
I guess I am retired. I drew my first Soc. Sec. Check this week. I cannot wait until I don't have to work any more. Maybe some of the aches and pains won't be so bad if that happens
For all the people of the Eastern Orthodox Churches who still use the Old Calendar, I wish every one a beautiful birght week. This past Sunday was our celebration of Holy Pascha. I wish I could have visited the HQ for ROCiA for the celebrations that we planned out there. I never get to do anything any more. I so miss working with the Church offices, where I was always busy.
God bless ROCiA.

Hello everyone. Well, I feel like I have survived trial by fire. After 3 months without water, and using the bathroom outside, and bathing in the kitchen sink, we have gotten out of the hell hole hollow. We have a cute little house, in Yawkey, WV. It is actually further from work but I can make it to work faster. That won't really matter as I am retiring this month, but will try to work maybe 3 days a week.
We have a working bathroom, we can do laundry at home now, we have gas for cooking and heating. The only thing that is a problem that needs to be corrected other than painting is, repairing the bridge over the creek in front of the house.
We still get our mail at the Post Office, but we have a new phone number, and we have DSL internet.
Hip Hip Hurrah!

Greetings and Peace to all:
Well, tomorrow is the big day. I go to Huntington to the Social Security Administration to see if I can afford to retire. I honesty hope I can. I have so many days of so many aches and pains it gets down right difficult to walk let alone work.
If we could just move to level ground I think i would like it better up here. Right now I hate it. I have been lied to from the beginning. Not by my buddy but his mom. But that is another whole story. The tales I could tell about this woman. She still has not fixed our well. We did get Billy's half brother to come over and help get the stove working so we don't have to cook on kerosene heaters, especially since it is near 80 today.
I rejoined the Church I use to be a part of and cannot find out what is happening. I don't understand. They want me to be the representative as the Bishop for the East Coast, yet they share no information with me. I am so confused!
Pray for me, please!
