Announcements regarding the fleet, fleet operations, missions, etc.
The Omega Fleet has run it's course under my leadership!
What does this mean?
The Omega Fleet has changed shape and face many times over the course of her existence, and that time is coming again. In 2008, at the conclusion of her current mission, the Omega Fleet will be handed back to her creators, and her current crew will move forward to a new game. We are very excited about the new setting and the new adventures that await us, and we are very glad to know that the legacy we have all built together will continue.
At this time, the USS Venture has completed her mission, delivering a battered but intact USS Excelsior to the Fleet museum. The Robert April, still docked for repair, lies awaiting refurbishment. Starbase Omega, though still contending with a mysterious affliction that is reverse-aging the crew, has made a discovery that may save them all, if only Q will stop getting underfoot!
The shape of things to come in 2008 is expected to be bright indeed. With a Phoenix rising on one end, and a new Dawn on the other, our sims are changing, but we look forward to continuing our sagas.
It's September, which means another month has gone by, and time for another fleet update.
The USS Venture has run afoul of an old nemesis, and taken a pounding while escorting the hull of the USS Excelsior to the fleet museum. The Mirror Universe counterpart of the Venture's XO, Alex Ramius, made a reappearance and attempted to destroy the Venture using the USS Excelsior. The Venture's crew responded, and were able to chase off the attackers. In no shape to pursue the mastermind of the attack as he flees into the night, the crew must lick their wounds, and complete their journey. The attack also put Samantha McMullen at risk, the pregnant wife of the Venture's commander, Rear Admiral Robert McMullen. Things couldn't be more personal between these two now.
The starbase has begun to suffer the effects of a space-time distortion, which is resulting in the crew beginning to age in reverse! Can they discover what is happening and stop it while they can still reach the controls? Could this be the last mission for the Omega Fleet?
Tune in and find out!
Until next month,
Vice Admiral Frost
Commanding Officer
Omega Fleet
It's August, and there's not a lot new to report, except that I'm reporting on it, which is new.
Who knows if this unprecedented behavior will continue, but There Is Always Hope.
Our missions continue, with the USS Venture battling a refurbished USS Excelsior, and trying not to destroy this piece of history before they can retake it.
Starbase Omega has seen its first visit from Q, and his dire warnings have provided little clue what is coming next.
The AQSG has a new recruitment officer and a new webmaster. Between the two we hope to see more timely updates to the AQSG site, and a slightly stronger trickle of candidates our way.
No news on the updates of the Yahoo Groups Beta, though they now have a suggestion board and a yahoo group for suggestions. I believe the suggestion board is the nest place to leave feedback. If you are a simmer, you should check it out and see what the changes mean fr your group. For ours, they are positive changes so far, but YG only has some bare minimum features running, so we don't really know the finished product yet. I say put your two cents in now.
Speaking of two cents, I am late for posting, and if my senior staff see this, but no posts, I shall certainly have to duck pies being hurled in my direction when I really want to be napping or playing golf.
Cheers,
-Frosty
Admiral's Log, begin recording.
I will be recording and distributing messages to the fleet from our headquarters, Starbase Omega. It is my hope to improve the communications methods and opportunities for the fleet membership, and accordingly, improve our fleet's appeal to those seeking an assignment.
Further data and announcements will be added as we move forward.
