Short hike to Shelter Rock,36 degrees.
We went shooting(my Kahr 40 needs some work),then stopped by Western Warehouse to look at boots for me.I planned on getting me a new pair of Black ones for my birthday, but never got around to it!I really wanted a pair like the brown ones I have, but after looking online, they no longer make that style(my brown ones are about 10 years old!).I tried on a pair of traditional ones & they were so narrow in the foot, they were painful(my brown ones are of soft leather & stretched to fit my foot, wider, but not wide enough for Wide width).Mike saw some Packer boots(look like western style, but lace up).I LOVE them! The toe is rounder,so the foot is wider & the laces make them more adjustable. They look good with my jeans, but are also dressy enough for skirts.I am so happy! Will post a picture tomorrow.
Back home,we changed batteries in the smoke detectors, cleaned the leaks on the driveway, sealed up the dog house & hung the quilt rack.
I started a pineapple doily in olive green, but ran out of thread with 2 rounds left to do.I will try adding a different color tomorrow.
We had spinach sausage casserole for supper.

Mike fixed a leak on his truck.

We were going to hang some cranberry tab toppers($2 at a yardsale) above the french doors to the back patio, but with the cove ceiling,we couldn't get them hung up high enough to be free of the swinging door!Instead,we hung 3 floral saucers from hangers on the wide wood casing.Even Mike likes it!
I made a 9 1/2" doily called "Dawn 'o Day" in Dusty Rose using a 1940's tablecloth motif pattern.
