Our Bridge Walk, 13 Days Ago

راهپیمایی امت شهید پرور سیدنی در روز 18 مارس در اعتراض به هفتادوپنجمین سالگرد تولد سیدنی هاربربریج

13 days ago on March 18th, Sydney celebrated the 75th birthday of its beloved landmark, the Coathanger, Sydney Harbour Bridge. Since we live in Sydney now, it was very natural for us to go to this celebration.
The celebration was very simple: please show up at the northern end of the bridge and walk over the bridge down to the southern end of it. It was a rather beautiful experience, with all those people with yellow-green caps and the heroic music which was being played all over the bridge. At the south end of the bridge, where the walk was going to end, we saw a number of senior citizens holding cards which read: "I walked on Harbour Bridge on 1932".

The National Public Toilet Map

I couldn't think that such a site might even exist, but it is not a joke, it is true. an Australian government website for all information related to public toilets all over Australia. The site can give you detailed maps of where public toilets are located and even a public toilet trip planner will show you where in your journey between two points in the country you can find public toilets to relieve yourself in.

The real reason behind this website, as said by the department of health and aging, is for helping those people with urinary and fecal control problems. This website and other facilities of the health department will help these people to live a more normal life with more dignity and self confidence.

My New Profile Picture
My New Profile Picture magnify
Two of my friends have commented on my new profile picture. Yes, my new profile picture of which you see a copy at the top of this post is taken on my second day in Sydney. It was almost three months ago.

The memory of that day is a little bit hazy to me, because of the jet lag and a little bit maybe because of the shock of having one of my greatest dreams come true and to more greater extent, having an entire unexplored vista of life in Australia ahead of me -- you know, how am I going to find a job, find a place to live in, communicate and stuff like this -- and the last but not least, shock of leaving behind a cold winter and coming to a lovely warm summer just in one day!

But I remember enough about that day to say when that picture was taken, it was around 8 PM in Sydney, but my biological clock kept shouting it is 12:30, it is 12:30 and I had not got almost any sleep since three days before. In the picture, I am sitting on a bench somewhere in the Sydney northern beaches, over viewing the ocean. On our way back to my friend and his wife's apartment who were kindly our hosts for those first days, I felt asleep in the car, which was hilarious!

Disclosure

It had been a very long time I meant to read "Disclosure" by Michael Crichton. Against my wish something always happened that kept me from reading the book. But at last I recently managed to read it.
The book you see in the picture is borrowed from the library near my home, and of course, the person beside the book is not me, he is our teddy chimp, Monkey. (Monkey is really his name).
The book was so fascinating that I couldn't put it down, even to get a couple of hours of desperately needed sleep. This is the case with all Michael Crichton's books, well, almost all.
I have read Terminal Man, Jurassic Park, Lost World, Congo, Andromeda Strain, Timeline, Airframe, Rising Sun, Prey, State Of Fear, and now, Disclosure. Any single one of these stories has rubbed sleep from my eyes, until I have read them from cover to cover.
If you are looking for a good book to have an enjoyable time reading it, I definitely recommend these books I named.

The Best Photo I Have Ever Taken
I have always loved photohraphy, but as a beholder, not a photographer.
But this time, I have something to brag about. This photo is the best photo I have ever taken so far.
