Hi, music fans,

Legendary Brill Building composer/producer
Jeff Barry ("Baby, I Love You," "Chapel of Love," "Leader of the Pack," "Tell Laura I Love Her," "Sugar, Sugar") has a birthday coming up, on April 3rd, and as usual I'm preparing my annual birthday presentation in the form of a "virtual" greeting card, to which Jeff's fans, friends and colleagues from all over the globe can post their birthday wishes for him.

For those of you who'd like to add your voices to the collective HAPPY BIRTHDAY, please click
HERE and post away. Feel free to add some personal recollections if you'd like ... perhaps you could mention songs of Jeff's that were meaningful to you, or when you first became a fan of his music, or other anecdotes you'd like to share with him and with the world. No registration or login is necessary to post on the board. Jeff is hitting a milestone of sorts; he's turning 69, which means this will be the last year he is in his sixties. (Doesn't seem possible, does it?) Soooo ... what I'd like to see is AT LEAST that number of people posting birthday wishes for him. :)

I will also be putting up a special birthday page on the
Jeff Barry fan site and will randomly choose several of the board entries to display on that page, with a link to the message board.

Thanks,
Laura

Be My Baby

Here's one of my favorite performances of one of my favorite songs!  "Be My Baby" was composed by Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich and Phil Spector and became a hit for The Ronettes, who are featured in this 1965 video, and later for Andy KimBrian Wilson has said that "Be My Baby" is his favorite record in the whole world.  Check out this cool live performance by The Ronettes on the television show Shindig.

Welcome to Oldies Connection!

Hello to all you babyboomers out there!

Welcome to the Oldies Connection 360 page and blog.  This page complements my profile pages on MySpace and Frappr.  When you have time, please check 'em both out - there are lots of pix and videos on both pages.  If you're a MySpace member, feel free to add me as a friend.  If you're a Frappr member or are intrigued by the layout of the page and would like to join, just click on the link on that page to add yourself to my Friends Map, and Frappr will automatically set up an account for you.

Here's one of my very favorite videos - Ron Dante, the voice of The Archies and The Cuff Links, with a live performance of "Tracy" from 1999!  (Check out Ron's MySpace page for more of the same.)

Enjoy,
Laura
