Don t look back, it s not where I m going.
spinning, lasers, LA, color therapy, film, patterns pictures, epiphinettes,
no pictures but soon.
I decided to finally figure out how to make my ow spindle hooks as the company I get the pre-made "cup hooks" has changed how they make theirs to the point that I can't use them.
ERGO, new hobbies on the way. First you buy a single round nose pliers. Then you ask shop keeper about wire jewelery. You buy several wonderful books and supplies (several more types of pliers, draw plate, wire etc.. Stop in local bead store for more ideas and to check out closures for hopefully soon to be made wire jewelery, buy more books because you haven't made the wire stuff to figure out what size closure you need.
On the way home, stop in art glass store to check out types of glass you saw in the bead store. Sign up for introductory bead making class.... buy even more books. Eye glass kiln and think of where to put it at home.. Go to another glass store, see more kilns. Sign up for glass fusing two day workshop. Think about the glass spindles and handles I can make once I learn techniques.
see other classes but run while the credit card is still alive.
I will keep you posted and maybe have some lame pictures of first attempts in the following weeks... --- oooo! a marble making class... fused bowls and support spindle dishes...............
Ok, a couple things have changed, as you can see, I have remodeled the "avatar" home, a bit more cozy and the fireplace is nice in the chilly winter or even the cool spring nights.
The picture is my proudly, newly created first "cheddar cheese". Took an evening to make it, two days to press it to shape and when it finishes drying (a couple days) it will be waxed proper and put in the cheese cave for about four to six months for gentle aging. If all goes well, then just after Independence day, I should have a nice mellow sharp cheddar for eating, or maybe I'll wait till fall. If it doesn't work, I will have a two pound lump of bad milk LOL.
I think I will try Parmesan next. I have also done mozzarella and it was WONDERFUL. Fresh made cheese is soooo, different.
