Hello Friends, well I see that 360 has come out with their new Beta profile page, I have gotten a few requests not to connect with friends but after looking the new profile page over for a while I have decided not to go there and just drop 360 altogether and devote my time to Multiply so in the very near future I will be closing my Yahoo 3s0 profile page, I will continue to keep Messenger so that we can keep in touch I will just no longer use 360.

Things That Memories Are Made Of

Old memories can be associated with many different things sights, sounds, smells and objects are among just some of the things that can spark an old memory to life, every body has them some good and others not so good but that’s just part of life I guess, in my own life it seams like I really struggle to come up with all that many truly fond memories but very now and then something will come along that will jog the old memory bank to life and bring a smile to my face hence the reason for this blog, since about nineteen ten my Uncle Glens family has lived on a large farm in Washington State and at ninety five years old my Aunt Hazel (my mothers sister) still lives their today, how well I remember family gatherings at the farm, my mother had five sisters so sometimes several families would get together at one time for a visit, their was always a big dinner and Aunt Hazel was (and probably still is) truly a great cook, being a farm the largest part of the meals were home grown the meat would always be from a pig or cow that my Uncle Glen butchered the vegetables and fruits were fresh from the garden the butter would always be churned from the fresh cream of the daily milking and the thing I remember the most was how the smell of fresh baked bread and biscuits permeated the kitchen when you walked in the door, after dinner and the dishes were done the adults would set up a couple of card tables and the games of Pinochle would go on for hours while the kids went outside to play, well being the youngest of all the kids I was mostly always left behind while the older ones were off doing what ever older kids did but that was all right because their was always plenty to do, places to explore like the old black smith shop, the barn, the chicken house, then their was numerous pieces of farm machinery that needed checking out and sometimes I would go down to the creek and do a little fishing, we were always cautioned to watch out for rattle-snakes because they were common place on the farm but the only one I ever did see was all ready dead, on one occasion when I was about ten or twelve years old Uncle Glen took me into his Machine Shop (it was the only place on the farm that was strictly off limits to anyone) to show me how it all worked and at my young age I remember how amazed I was at all the tools and the over-head system of belts and pulleys with the long handle that hung from the ceiling that he moved back and forth to power which ever tool he wanted to use, and fourty five plus years later when I think about it I can still see the vision of it in my mind, there are so many great childhood memories connected with visiting Uncle Glen and Aunt Hazel that it would be difficult to try to write them all down but they will forever live in me and never be forgotten.

Many thanks to my cousin Don who sent me a couple of pictures that brought back these awesome memories.

Good Morning All, well have you all got big plans for the Memorial day weekend, if you do please be sensible and safe and have fun in what ever your doing, Bobby and I are going to be at home this weekend doing some gardening, hitting a few garage sales and getting together for a family Bar-B-Que tomorrow, Tim (Bobbys son) and I finely got our old carport torn down and hauled of to the recycler and now we can get started on the new garage that’s going to replace it, there is a new Mexican Restaurant in town that just opened up about a week ago and since my absolute favorite ethnic cuisine is south of the boarder fare we felt obliged to go and check it out last night, it was fantastic the place is all painted in the traditional colors and decorated with all the fan fair of the south of the boarder culture and the food and the service was awesome we were all starving when we walked in and ate like their was no tomorrow but we couldn’t even begin to clean up our plates so needless to say we have left-overs tucked away in the fridge for lunch today, well that’s about enough out of me for today so I will get busy at doing something else for a while and catch up to you all again later … Take Care and God Bless.

Good Morning All, well I thought I’d do a blog today but nothings coming to mind so please just bare with me here, I used to really enjoy blogging and it seamed like I always had something to say but hear over the last few months I’ve run out of steam in the blooging arena, theirs just not a lot going on to brag about I guess, we’ve had a few pretty nice days here and yesterday I even got out and did a little spring cleanup in the yard and it’s time to start thinking about a few flowers for our garden areas so theirs still a lot to do out their, Friday evening “Gus” our Golden Lab got into something he shouldn’t have and we had to take him to the vet yesterday morning, he was one sad looking puppy with his nose and mouth all swollen up clear up to his eyeballs, the vet couldn’t pin point exactly what caused it but gave him a couple of shots anyhow and about $65.00 bucks and 24 hours later Mr. Gus is almost back to his normal self, we started a couple of small home remodeling projects here one is rebuilding a storage closet into a utility room that will house the washer, dryer and freezer when it’s finished and the other one is repainting and putting up some wall paper in the bathroom along with new towel bars and TP holder, Later this summer we will be building a new garage to replace our carport that was damaged in a wind storm about a month ago so we’ll have plenty to keep us busy for a while (if any of you would like to volunteer to come and help just come right on ahead lol lol), April is just around the corner and the elections are heating up hot and heavy, I don’t get into politics nor discuss or argue about them but it will be interesting to see what happens it could be a history making event in that we could for the first time in the Unites States we could have an African American or a Woman for our President and that’s all I’m going to say about that, well that’s about enough out of me for now so I better get going and try to get something done here, So Take Care All.
