It's the month of Halloween, so I thought I'd post a suitably theme video. In this case it is "The Black Widow" by Alice Cooper, featuring an appearance by Vincent Price. The video is pretty goofy, but it is worth it just to see Alice and Vincent together.

Today is September 30. That means tomorrow the month of October begins--the month of Halloween. Among my favourite bands is Blue Oyster Cult. They are also among the spookiest bands in my opinion, with several songs in the horror genre. Among their best is the song "Joan Crawford," in which one of the scariest actresses to ever grace the silver screen returns from the dead. Here is the video:

It is one of those ironies of cinematic history that one of the worst James Bond films, A View to a Kill, would have one of the best themes, "A View to a Kill" by Duran Duran. Indeed, the video for the song was better than the movie! Here it is, "A View to a Kill" by Duran Duran

One of my favourite comic book characters growing up was Marvel Comics' Iron Man. It is for that reason that I am looking forward to the movie, which is being released May 2, 2008. Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark, the billionaire who is injured and must build the power armour to survive. With the exception of some updating (it was originally set in Vietnam), it looks from the trailer as if the movie will roughly follow the outline of his origin story.
