What Kind of “ Leaven ” are you made of ?
What Kind of Leaven ” are you made of ?

LEAVEN

, n. lev'n. [L. levo, Eng. to lift.]

1. A mass of sour dough, which, mixed with a larger quantity of dough or paste, produces fermentation in it and renders it light. During the seven days of the passover, no leaven was permitted to be in the houses of the Jews. Exo 12.

2. Any thing which makes a general change in the mass.

It generally means something which corrupts or depraves ,

that with which it is mixed.

Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Mat 16.

LEAVEN

, v.t. lev'n.

1. To excite fermentation in; to raise and make light, as dough or paste.

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 1 Cor 5.

2. to taint; to imbue.

================================================================

Mat 13:33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

Mat 16:6

Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Mat 16:11

How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

Mat 16:12

Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Mar 8:15

And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

Luk 12:1

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

1Co 5:6

Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

1Co 5:7

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

1Co 5:8

Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Gal 5:9

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So then , “ Leaven ” is something,

that has a great effect ,

on everything it comes in contact with ,
Either a Godly effect or a Evil Effect .
What effect are you having on those “YOU” come into contact with ???
Are you Spreading Mercy , Love , Compassion , Forgiveness , Truthfulness … !
If Not !
Then what are you Spreading ?
Think about this !
Whatever is inside of you is going to have an effect on those around you…
If you are Harboring Anger , Resentment , malice , bitterness , Pain , Etc…
Then…
This is what you will Spread to the surrounding People…

What is Your Cross ?
What is Your Cross ?

Mar 8:34

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Mar 10:19

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

Mar 10:20

And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

Mar 10:21

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Mar 10:22

And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

Mat 16:24

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Luk 9:23

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

===========================================================

Joh 19:16

Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

Joh 19:17

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

Joh 19:18

Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

Mat 10:38

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

Luk 14:27

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Mar 15:21

And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

Luk 23:26

And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.

Mat 27:32

And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

What is Your Cross… ?

Why Must you take up your Cross ?

Why Did The below mentioned man Have to help Jesus Carry the Cross , Or even Carry it for Jesus To some extent… ?

Think about these Questions and I will Bring the message That God has Given me , In the LCM Meeting one day soon…

Are we also Afraid ?
Are we also Afraid ?
Exodus Chapters 3 and 4

Exo 4:1

And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.

Exo 4:2

And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand?

And he said, A rod.

Exo 4:3 And he said, Cast it on the ground.

And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

Exo 4:4

And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
================================================================
How many times in our walk with the Lord has something Like Verse 3 ,
happened to us… ?
We do something That we are sure God has told us to do ,
and something that seems terrible happens…
Then we do as Moses did…
We Run away…
God was telling Moses all thru Chapters 3 and 4 ,
That He would do all that was needed ,
That all Moses had to do was what He ( God ) Told him to do…
Yet when Something unexpected happened ,
Immediately Moses Gave up and Ran away .
How many of Us would Have the Courage to Grab that Serpent by the tail , and Change the situation back into something that is Useful and a help to us ?
A shepherds Rod was used for many things in those days , it gave balance and support for rough terrain , It defended the Flock , it Gave Guidance to the Flock ,
It was a Useful tool in many ways…
Yet
When It turned into a snake ,
It seemed to be something to be feared and gotten away from…
I would be saying a sure thing ,
if I said that God is saying to many of us right now…
Just Grab it by the tail , and turn this fearful situation around for His ( GOD’S ) Glory !
When we get into situations that seem to be just the opposite of what we expected to happen , we will generally turn tail and run away from what we see as a failure or even as a threat !
“ I was doing what I believed God told me to Do , and Guess what happened !

A Huge Serpent appeared and sought to destroy me…

Boy , I’m Glad I got away from That thing !”
When Maybe…
God is saying , “ Just Grab it by the tail and go On with what I told you to do ! ”
We become afraid…
We allow Fears and Doubt to enter ,
Thus we Run away…
The Best weapon , ( and really the Only one )
that Satan has against a Child of GOD… is Fears and Doubt !
If He ( satan ) can make Us afraid or to make us Doubt what we are doing , then He has
( for Now ) Beaten us .
How about it… Are you beaten down ?

Has Fears and Doubt crept in and caused you to Give up and run away ?

We ( You and I ) can grab that serpent by the Tail and turn This situation around for God’s Glory !
How about it… isn’t It time to Cast aside the Fears and Doubt that so easily beset us !
And say “ God I am willing , You are able , Nothing can stop You !
I will continue in what you have told me to do ! ”

Are You Praying for Mercy for Others ?
Tuesday September 02
This week's promise: God is merciful to us

Does God hear our prayers for mercy on behalf of others?

Abraham approached him and said, "Will you destroy both innocent and guilty alike? Suppose you find fifty innocent people there within the city—will you still destroy it, and not spare it for their sakes? Surely you wouldn't do such a thing, destroying the innocent with the guilty. Why, you would be treating the innocent and the guilty exactly the same! Surely you wouldn't do that! Should not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?" [The Lord responds that he will not destroy the city. Abraham persists, reducing the number to 45, then 40, 30, 20 and finally ten]. And the Lord said, "Then, for the sake of the ten, I will not destroy it."

Genesis 18:23-31 NLT

Gen 18:23

And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?

Gen 18:24

Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

Gen 18:25

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

Gen 18:26

And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

Gen 18:27

And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:

Gen 18:28

Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.

Gen 18:29

And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.

Gen 18:30

And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.

Gen 18:31

And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.

Gen 18:32

And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

Gen 18:33

And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.
KJV Genesis 18 : 23-33

Abraham's prayer for mercy

In the days before their fiery judgment, the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah probably had no idea that their neighbor Abraham was agonizing with God over their fate. Abraham saw the need for justice, but he also begged God to show them his mercy. He asked God to spare the city for just a handful of righteous people, and God agreed. In addition, God sent his angels to protect Lot's innocent family and get them out of harm's way. But as Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction illustrates, there's a limit to his mercy, for the God of justice will not let sin go unpunished forever.

Just as he listened to righteous Abraham long ago, God will listen to your cries for justice and your pleas for mercy. In the end, God will do what is right.
