Blog Groupies

Back in the old days when you had too trudge up a hill carrying a bucket of soft sticky html code just too get your blog posted with font sizes and some colour on it, there weren’t too many people here on 360º but we were all connected people like Javacat, little Missy, Mr.E, Eddo, Lakeflurries, Rachel, Purevizhun and Reggie, Phil, Flowerman’s original page, jujjy, Marshagarsha, Yardy and Red7 are all 05’ers. Of course Ernie has had his since October 04 and there aren’t many people who have their 360º that long unless like Ernie you work for Yahoo.

There wasn’t much choice of friends when I started 360º it was still invite only maybe a couple of thousand users that was about it. So we all are like one big group the originals, the old-timers, the dang 360º oldies
I can remember getting excited about getting font sizes and fonts and themes that was like wow fantastic (think we had 6 too start with)

So all you newbie’s you 06’ers you got all the fun stuff, the custom themes, the page views, comments counters, polls, fonts, colours and quickie comments even Interesting pages and 360º pages from around the world and you got all of us, us oldies the group of people who struggled and put up with the ‘Classic’ theme the 360º mail box filling up all the time and 360º crashing (wait it still does that LoL).

We are the core group of people who help you out with your pages, we’ve seen it all, done all the memes, the cheezes all the 5x5’s, we are commenters the people with the huge amount of page views
We are the 360º oldies, the core group and the groupies (or maybe we have groupies?)

Oh if you think I’ve got a lot of views, check out Lakeflurries or little Missy’s even Mr.E’s all three where on the Interesting pages at one point even Eddo has more than I have and he hasn’t even been on the Interestings (he’s just good)

That’s what it says on the top of my blog, I’ve never changed it since day one June 6^th 2005
This blog IS about anything, whatever pops into my head at the time which a lot of the time is well nothing much
The page counters seem too be moving now (moving it’s going ballistic mines gone up from 143,113 to 146,516 in 24 hours) and my Home page isn’t as sticky as it used too be Neddy you sure it isn’t KY? What’s KY stand for anyway Kranky n Yello? Yeah that’s it Kranky n Yello, coz I’m an Angel and I don’t know what KY really stands for.

Yes Reggie some things never change do they? I also totally amaze myself at the profound comments I make (goes too mailbox too remember what exactly I did say)

You know I do that all the time I’ll say something, make a comment on someone’s blog and it’s really profound totally amazing for me and then later I can’t remember what I said its like “ what huh, where .. who me?” Or someone will quickie comment back for a comment I’ve made and I’m like “what are you talking about?”
Short term memory loss is a sign of old age I know but I did have a few bumps on the head when I was younger so I’m blaming that , as I’m not old , hang on yeah I am 40 that is old isn’t it ?

What I am trying too do is get back too posting about anything end up ranting about 360º instead

See I am a little upset at the moment, one of the people that I cared about has removed me and it has upset me, why hurt me like that it’s totally insensitive and childish.
No Jorge I’m not talking about you either it’s this person , who has deleted a few others too with no warning and no way of recourse .

Ripple effect

I have this question about the loss of friend of friend of friend this means we have lost a circle or a friend’s ripple

See 360º worked like this before, your friend had say 20 friends; those friends had 20 friends each and those friends had 20 friends each that meant you had 20x20x20 possible connections (8000 people). Now after the last lot of updates 360º is Private (just me) Friends only, Friend of Friend or Public

So say Fred C was connected too me before via Friend of Friend of Friend this means Fred C now is a 360º public and not connected at all

I just checked, a former friend of friend of friend now has no connection too me at all which means that the circle has gone down Friend of Friend or 20x20 is only 400 people, obviously I’ve got more than 20 friends so my circle is more like 1000 still that’s only a 10^th of the amount that where connected too me before

I had some of my blog set on 3x friend, which means the outer circle the 3x removed friends are now cut from quickie commenting

Good thing I put my blog back out public otherwise a lot would have been cut from any communication with me (I’ve always had some part of my page open for people who aren’t on my list too communicate with me)

I think the loss of friend of friend of friend is a blow too a lot of people , what are you supposed too do now if you had someone 3x removed in your favorites, you could see their blog before now you cant, what do you do send them an add request ? What happens if their list is full? Some people don’t like being public either because of stalkers and spammers but like too be slightly open for other reasons the 3x friend setting was great for that, it was almost public but it wasn’t (great for people on the Interesting pages)

With the loss of the friend of friend of friend option there will be a lot more add requests sent out and a lot of people will be saying “where did all my regulars who had me in favorites go?”

The 360º team gave us tag clouds but took some of our friends circle away; the 360º pond doesn’t ripple as much anymore

Note: Page views are working and I mean working mine went up by 60 in 1/2 an hour and 360Gayzettes now shows 2000+ hits instead of 0 (zero)
