Make time every day for prayers of gratitude, for family, friends, breath, light, darkness, music, dance. Creative work.
that begin in april 2006 and end in october 2006
please join me in october and beyond as i explore a new place and process in daily writing
yahoo's format was too busy, and the site feeds weren't updating correctly. please visit and send me comments, and please do enjoy reading my archives here as well.
your humbleservant
cutting through my skin
your breath in icy formation gripping the window
curved harness, steaming language
doing the rickshaw dance, marking your territory into my palm
whose muscle is larger when it comes to this
you just killed me again
outcast varsity triangle dipper
put the wreath out to dry
helicopters whirling bloody visions in the sunset
when you lift me from your sky
drop me down into the coals
let me roast a little while
then you eat me with your tea and toast
harris publishing the memoir, she was charismatic
drained her tubes behind the albertson's
left a bald spot on the sun
i remember why i came here, so relax
there's no ordinary craving, only facts
line me up along your wall
make the blindfold heal your stranger
he is begging for a reason
its a holy reconstruction, village whore
sometime during the next month i will be migrating to a different blog format for several reasons, mainly having to do with aesthetics, but also there is an inflexibility and unpredictability about certain aspects of this yahoo blog format that are not working for me.
as an example, my site feeds have not updated for the past week. this is upsetting because the election is coming up soon, and the daily kos feed is stuck on september 26th. do i believe yahoo is controlled by right-wing-nuts? no, but the timing on this glitch is a little frosting on the cake of 'its time to change'. i'm striving for simplicity in design that the format of 360 just does not offer.
a while ago i also made reference to a deepening of the direction of my creative writing that i may want to keep out of the public eye, leading to a no-blog or lesser-blog situation. however, there is enough feedback coming my way (i have about 113 readers and have had more than 2100 visits) that i do plan to keep posting pretty much every day.
the main thing i hear is gratitude for my gratitude, so i think the message that i get up in the morning every day with the intention of showing through the steps i walk, the conversations i have, my approach to work, to food, to everything, that i am grateful to be alive, that my life has value and direction, is getting through and may lift a few hearts and minds on the tide.
some people like the way i construct language in my more free-form or creative writing. in both cases, its appreciated, the feedback, and the process of writing a public statement of gratitude or a creative description of the miracles in life that i experience is good for me, and fun.
steps taken out your door and into the street
steps to follow down into my belly
steps carved into a mountainside
steps releasing guilt and shame
steps resisted, feared and eventually embraced
steps lost to the rain
steps retraced for clarity, community, understanding
steps as wings, rest on my back as we fly
steps held in reverence through fervent prayer
steps at all 3 doors into the greenhouse
steps so quiet they did not wake you up
steps one two three building some new bridge
steps washed, painted with dew
steps across the dry desert lake
steps taken by my fingertips dancing with your fingertips
steps eaten by termites
steps around a labyrinth, in, out, passing shoulder to shoulder
steps large, steps small
