All about being a transplant recipient

Ike
As I write this Ike is going through Texas causing a lot of damage, flooding, lost of power and yes some lives. But what are we going to do after Ike is gone ? Are we going to blame the goverment and say it should have done more to help ? That President Bush does not really care or are we going to take a step back and ask what can I do to help ? We all need to step in and do what we can to help those people to put back their lives. When the time comes we need to send them cloths, food, and anything else we can spare. The Red Cross is doing their part but they still need our help by giving blood, money and if we can our time. If you can and have the time go and help a family rebuild their home or help with the clean up. We as a nation need to stop pointing fingers and come together and help each other in times like this. So when the call comes out are you going to blame others on why things are not getting done or are you going to roll up your sleves and say what can I do to help ? They also need our prayers.

Adirondack Mountains
Just wanted to let you all know for the next 3 weeks will be on the road visiting family and getting away from it all. We are also going up to the Adirondack Mountains for a week have not been there for seven years do to waiting for my transplant. I use to spend all my summers there when I was growing up. I also water skied and sailed almost everyday. Do to my rejection meds and all the doctors told me I could not go in the water any more. But I can watch the humming birds breath the fresh cool air and take long walks. I will not have a computer with me and my cell phone does not work up there which is ok with me See you all when I get back in 3 weeks.

Birthday

Today is my birthday and I was thinking if it was not for my donor family I would not ber here today. It has been two and a half years since my transplant and I am really enjoying life the second time around. When you come close to death as I did and you get a second chance everything changes . I do not try and get even when someone has done me wrong and have learned to for give and for get and move on with my life. To be able to take a deep breath on my own is something I am greatful for. So on this birthday I will spend it with family and friends and enjoy their company and thank my donor family for a second chance in life.

Hope you all have a Happy and Safe Fourth of July

Thank You
I wanted to thank all of our service men and women who have served or are serving our country a thank you. For putting your lives in danger so the rest of us can speak our minds and live in freedom. We have three people running for President and we may not all agree who would be the best one we can speak our minds and not worry that the goverment will try and shut us down like they do in some countries. Everytime we go to the polls we need to keep in mind that a man or woman who is in the service made sure we have that right to vote and to have a say on what goes on in our goverment. We may not agree on the war but we need to stand behind our service men and women and support them and thank them for standing in the gap for us. If you see someone who is in service go over and shake their hand and tell them thank you for with out them our country would not be free and we would not have the right to speak our minds.
