Perhaps we could remember the "forgotten" people this Christmas season - for instance, those in prison, those without a home, those without a job - but above all - those who have forgotten their Maker - Creator - God!
Now, the latter don't fit into the "forgotten" people - category you may say. Oh, but they do. They ARE not forgotten - they HAVE forgotten! Perhaps we might call them the "forgetting people" then - whichever way, someone somewhere has turned their "forgettery" on and their memory off. Not a wise thing to do when it comes to the things of the Lord... May the Christmas celebrations serve to remind them.
To those who read this blog page - Have a wonderful Christmas one and all - and remember Who is the Reason for the Season!
IS THIS ALL THERE IS??
Remember that song?
Kind of sad, that someone can "own the world" and then sing such a depressing dirge, thereby making it very obvious that at death, they'll be "losing their own soul"...
As i contemplate filling this, my first blog-page (after having been a Yahoo 360O member for over a year!) with "something to impress" i need to keep in mind the fact that God did not create us to impress but to impart. Matters of the heart. Matters of the soul. Matters of THE SPIRIT! Because this is NOT all there is, this life with all its ups and downs - this "land of hills and valleys". This experience that He Himself came to - God in Human Form, Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God, embodying the Mystery of "God in the Flesh" which will only be unveiled to those who believe. Yet to believe, it has to be unveiled to our spirits, by His Spirit... an awesome dichotomy this - the fact that to "see" we need to believe, yet to believe, we need to "see"!
It is interesting to note that someone explained how the Greeks used the same word for "seeing" and "knowing".
So to KNOW Him is to SEE Him and vice versa. Even more interesting, that the Apostle John wrote that one day we shall be like Him for we shall see Him AS HE IS.
Now is that something or not?! Knowing Jesus - seeing Jesus - being like Jesus - who can ask for anything more??
So then, for us who believe in Him and have "experimental knowledge", not just "head-knowledge", this life is NOT all there is!
Phew, am i relieved!!
Aren't you??
