THE LAW OF KARMA
THE LAW OF KARMA magnify
"Karma" means "action". The law of karma is the law of interaction between souls, and between souls and nature. It is a simple cause and effect law, similar to the law of physics that evey action has an equal reaction. With human souls, there is the set of laws which govern our destiny. Our fate is actually in our own hands; hence the old saying: "As you sow, so shall you reap".
To put it simply, pure or righteous action brings a beneficial reaction, and impure action leads to an unpleasant reaction. With impure action, there is confusion when the unpleasant reaction is experienced. This confusion leads to loss of power, and then the soul is ruled by matter. This is the state of body-consciousness - the conscient soul being dominated by its own physical medium, the body, and dominated by the actions of others and of nature.
There are three main components of the Law of Karma:
1. The Soul
2. God
3. Matter

Spirituality is to understand and realise what the spirit is, and what is its relationship with God and with matter; (the body and nature). On the basis of a firm understanding of the laws of spirituality, there is not only a change in the individual, but also a change in matter.
With this understanding of the laws of action (not to be confused with the blind faith of "morality") the soul regains the power to rule over matter.
There are three different types of action:
1. In the Golden and Silver Ages, there is only NEUTRAL action, and no accounts are created between souls.
2. In the Copper and Iron Ages there is IMPURE action. In body-consciousness, or ignorance, the soul performs such actions that create an intricate web of accounts to be settled with others. These accounts pull the soul and rob it of its freesom.
3. In the Confluence Age there is PURE action. In soul consciousness, and with remembrance of God, or Yoga, the soul performs such actions based on knowledge that benefit both the self and others.
Our main task now in this Confluence Age is to settle the numerous accounts of many lives through the power of Yoga and pure action.
As the soul performs righteous actions and decreases the karmic burden of impure action, so then the intellect regains its power and clarity. With this clarity comes a greater power to judge what action is righteous and what is impure.
The Law Of Karma is explained only by God, at the end of the Iron Age, as God is the only soul never to be caught in the bondage of action.
All human souls are born into the cycle of birth and death, and each goes through its own stages of pure through to impure.
Human beings are not immune to the effects of their actions. Although the soul is separate from the body, it is not detached from, or immune to, the effects of its own actions. Some say that it is the body that suffers; but when the soul leaves the body, and the body is "dead", there is no suffering. It is the soul that suffers through its connection with the body.
Souls carry the account of karma with them, even into their next birth. For example, some children are born crippled, as they still have accounts of previous karmas to be settled.
So now there must be control over all actions. Actions are the results of thoughts and desires; so these too must come under control. The mind is controlled through the link with God that is called Yoga.
When the mind and the intellect are filled with purity, then no impurity can emerge. The Supreme ordinance that God gives is: "Remember Me, become pure, and your accounts of numerous births will be settled".
If action are filled with Truth, then that action will be an elevated action, and those actions will take us to the Golden Age; the Land of Truth.

Who am I ?
Who am I ? magnify
Last week we explored the simple but profoundly life-affecting mistake of identifying with something we are not. Self identity or who/what I think I am is the deepest influence on all our perceptions, thoughts and actions, and therefore our destiny.
We saw that all our fears and angers, which means all our stress, come from a variety of mistaken identities. But we also acknowledged that it's only half the story. While we explored what happens when we believe we are something that we are not, it still left us with an unanswered question 'who am I'.really?

While it would be easy to name or label the entity that is the 'I' that says 'I am' it would make little difference to the way we think and live. If we are to change or even transform the quality of our life from inside out it is necessary to go beyond words and ideas, beyond names and labels. Like many spiritual teachers and philosophers throughout history we could give 'the self' another name like 'spirit', or 'soul', or 'consciousness', but it would only be just another label. Behind any name/label is a concept of spirit, a concept of soul, a concept of consciousness, and we would likely identify with the concept and be back where we started i.e. identifying with something we are not. Neither I nor you are concepts!

This is why you cannot 'learn' who you are only 'realise' what you are. You are already and have always been what/who you are and, in truth, you can never be other than what/who you are, but it requires 'realisation' i.e. that moment when you 'see it', when you 'get it', sometimes referred to as the AHA moment!

There are essentially two ways to 'realise' who and what you really are. The first is a process of elimination, sometimes referred to as 'netti netti', which roughly translated means 'not this not that'. In this process of elimination everything you are not is seen within your awareness as false and is discarded. You might start from the outside in. It's obvious you are not things, places or other people. But as we saw last week they are common mistaken identities. It's not so obvious that you are not the form that you occupy. This is the deepest 'conditioned identity' that we all assimilate. If you recognize that the world (of perceptions/thoughts/feelings) within your consciousness is your primary reality, and physical reality is secondary, you will begin to separate your sense of self from your physical costume and all the stimulation that comes through it. This is of course where such practices as meditation and contemplation can speed the process of 'seeing' and '

Even then, some further elimination of false identities is required. You may begin to see the more subtle identities that you adopt around memories and beliefs, around emotions and feelings. And yet you know from experience that all thoughts and feelings come and go. All attitudes and beliefs come and go. All come to pass in the literal sense. So they pass, but who remains, always? Who is the watcher, the observer of all things passing through your life both externally and internally? Who remains, always? You do, the 'I' that says 'I am' always remains.

So what is left is nothing, or more accurately 'no thing'. All that is left is the 'I'. Nothing else. Just the self, the watching, witnessing being that is the self. Awareness itself! And in that state of awareness nothing can touch the 'I' that is no thing. When described in this way there is the tendency to think about what is being described instead of just watching. And when you think about it, it can start to feel threatening, as all the things we have been comfortably identifying with seem to be slipping away. You may even start to think this process of eliminating all that you are not as the road to a small, empty and naked self with no support and nothing to hold on to. But somewhat paradoxically (until you stop thinking about it) the opposite happens. There emerges an overwhelming feeling of freedom, of being in an unlimited state, able to embrace and accept everything and everyone and every event. The movie of life becomes just that, a movie, a story that

This is why no theory, no writing, no set of concepts, however well crafted in words can actually give you the direct authentic experience of who you really are. Only you can do that. By watching. By seeing. Not with physical eyes but with the eye of your awareness.

Which brings us to a second method. Experiment in your meditation/contemplation with the following phrases. I am a being of energy. The energy of 'I' the being, is light. The light that 'I am' is radiant. I radiate the light that I am, as peace. I am peace. In the peace that I am there is stillness. In the stillness there is no change, no sense of the passing of time. I am timeless. I am eternal. Still. Silent. Forever.

Each phrase/word is a signpost pointing into your conscious awareness. Follow the steps we covered a couple of weeks ago i.e. think it, see it, feel it, know it, be it, live it. As you make this inner journey you may notice all the other false identities losing their power, losing their grip on your conscious awareness. Unless of course you don't want them to lose their grip, which is fine too. It sometimes takes a little time to find the courage to let them go.

Some of the signs that you have either arrived or that you are well on your way to knowing and being what you really are will be as follows.

When you know who you really are you will be at peace with your self not only because peace is your true and original nature but there is no longer any inner division and therefore conflict between the many identities that you had previously created (gender/nationality/profession /possessions etc).

When you know who you really are you are at peace with others. You no longer have to defend or protect any false image of your self, so you no longer perceive anyone else as a threat to those images. The authentic you can never be threatened.

When you realize who you truly are you are at peace with the world because you will contain the world instead of it containing you. Whereas before you allowed the world to impose itself on you and shape your perceptions and feelings according to your particular sense of identity, now your self-perception is stabilized in the correct identity you are able to receive the hold the world. In a sense you shape the world as you bring it into your consciousness.

When you realize who you truly are you can never feel insulted because you no longer cling to any false image of yourself, so others cannot judge or criticize you because they cannot see the real you. They may project their image of you onto you, and as they do they may criticise that image, but you don't take it seriously because YOU know who YOU are, and you are not someone else's image of you.

When you know what you are you will never be late because whenever you arrive anywhere the moment of arrival is always the right moment, because it is the only moment that is possible! Although you respect chronological time, time is no longer a function of a clock.

When you have realised who you are your capacity to empathise with others increases naturally. You are no longer caught in your own mixed and often tangled feelings based on multiple identities, so you are more open and sensitive to the emotions and feelings of others. Your capacity to care is magnified.

When you know who you are your faith in life itself is restored. You sense your connection with all of life around you and there is a deep awareness that universe will show up with whatever you need in the right way, at the right time in the right place. Your peace and the patience that flows from it are infinite.

Shiva Ratri - The Harbinger of Golden Dawn
Shiva Ratri - The Harbinger of Golden Dawn magnify

SHIVA RATRI _THE HARBINGER OF GOLDEN DAWN

Shivaratri is the most important festival for the entire humanity because it signifies the incarnation of incorporeal God Shiva for re-establishing heaven on earth, On Shivaratri devout people in India observe fast which is symbolic of the purification of body and soul. People also keep awake the whole night, and this signifies the vigil against looting by dacoits who have looted human soul of its innate qualities of peace, purity, power, truth, love, happiness and bliss. People visit Shiva temples where they pour milk and water over the Shivlinga, the oval stone representing incorporeal God, Shiva. This offering is poured into a vessel suspended above the

linga on which the fluid falls drop by drop. This symbolizes the deep contemplation on Godly versions, one by one, by His children. Through this contemplation the souls not only get clarity on points of spiritual knowledge, but also the souls get purified. Such purification is very important for ensuring one’s presence in the Golden Age which God re-establishes during the Auspicious Confluence Age that starts with the incarnation of God Shiva and lasts until the establishment of the Golden Age, whereby starting a new cycle of the ‘Eternal World Drama’. Some people consume potions of Bhang, an intoxicating herb, and this practice signifies the spiritual ntoxication of human souls during the Confluence Age. It is paradoxical that those who practice these rituals are usually unaware of the spiritual significance stated above, and hence are deprived of the full reward, i.e. deity-hood in the Golden Age. Let us now try to understand the correct spiritual significance of Shivaratri so that we can benefit fully from Godly knowledge that is available only during the Auspicious Confluence Age. First of all we have to understand that a human being is a combination of material body and nonmaterial soul, spirit, Atma, Rooh or psyche. The non-material soul does not belong to the material world where we live. It originally belongs to the soul-world called Brahmalok, Shanti Dham, Nirvan Daham or Mool Vatan in Hindi. It is also called incorporeal world because it is devoid of any matter that constitute corporeal forms. This realm is the farthest from the corporeal world, and is filled with Brahm, the golden red light which is sometimes called the sixth element. In this silence world dwells God Shiva, the Supreme Father along with His children - the human souls. The souls in Paramdham are devoid of the faculties of mind, intellect, and body, and hence there is no vibration of thought, speech or deed. That is why Supreme silence prevails here. Silence is the original attribute of the soul and hence every soul longs for peace. All great achievements of the human beings are attained through contemplation in silence.

Souls are made up of seven basic attributes - knowledge, peace, love, joy, purity, power and bliss. In fact these attributes are metaphysical energies and these come into play through the faculties of mind, intellect and personality traits, called Sanskaras in Hindi, when the soul is embodied in the corporeal world. The cosmic egg (Brahmand) is constituted by three worlds - the incorporeal world of souls and the Supreme Soul is the outer most and is referred to as the silence-world, the corporeal world of matter, sound and action- at the level of thought , speech and deed-is the inner most realm which is referred to as the ‘movie-talky-world. In between these two is the subtle world where there is no matter and no sound and it is the realm of subtle deiies - Brahma, Vishnu and Shankar who communicate throughthought vibrations. The soul is metaphorically compared to an actor who plays his varied roles by getting embodied in the corporeal world. The body is his costume, planet earth is a revolving drama stage, the sun, moon and stars provide lighting for the stage, plants, flowers, nimals and birds provide stage decoration. As this drama is eternal, the events in this drama have to epeat exactly after a period, which God has revealed to be only 5000 years. That means, every 5000 years you will be reading the same article at the same time, date, month and year. In order to sustain such a huge drama eternally, enormous amount of energy is required, and as per the second law of thermodynamics, this energy source is bound to dwindle and come to a halt. The implication is that some external agency would be required in order to sustain the cycle of the world drama eternally, and this agency should be outside the physical world, where the ‘Law of Entropy’ is not operative. Hence it stands to reason that God only can be that agency who functions as the eternal source of energy. How is God able to do this? In order to understand the answer to the above question, we have to view the whole creation as an eternal interplay of three point-sources of energy, both physical and metaphysical. God is the eternal generator of metaphysical energy, while souls are like batteries or point-sources of meta-physical energy, and atom is the point-source of physical energy. The eternal drama is an eternal interplay between these three energy sources. There is a general consensus among scientists and philosophers that when human consciousness (soul) gets localized in a body which is made of five ross elemnts of nature - earth, water, fire. air and space, former rules over the latter through its subtle energies of mind and intellect. Metaphorically, we may consider the body as a car and the soul as its driver. The soul localizes in the center of the brain, in between three endocrine glands - pituitary, pineal and hypothalamus.Sitting over here soul controls the body through the nervous and endocrine systems. For this the spiritual energy has to reach every cell of the body. Thus the embodied soul is bound to the 100 trillion cells of the body. Although the somatic cells are endowed with the faculty of life, by which they are able to multiply independent of the soul, when suitable biological environment is provided, they cannot function as an organ system in the absence of the regulatory role of the soul.

In fact God interferes directly with the world drama, only when the souls and atoms, through their interactions, deplete the ‘available energy’ and when the replenishment is urgently required, This critical situation is currently on since there is maximum entropy and consequent disorder and chaos in the world now. God, being the Creator, Director and Principal Actor of the eternal drama, appears on the drama stage by incarnating into the body of an aged person, and starts speaking Godly knowledge, revealing the secrets about soul, Supreme Soul, eternal world drama, law of Karma, and teach Rajyoga, the technology for recharging the soul by linking the self with the Supreme Soul, the eternal generator of spiritual powers. Once the required number of human souls get transformed, from profane to divine, the transformation of the physical world takes place automatically. When the human beings become divine beings, the world of deities, the paradise on earth becomes a reality.

The celebration of Shivaratri is in remembrance of this benevolent act of God Shiva in each cycle (Kalpa) of the eternal world drama. The human medium used for this act of God has been renamed by Him as Prajapita Brahma, and he has been instrumental for establishing the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya which now has over 7000 branches in 130 countries in all the five ontinents.Godly knowledge and Rajyoga are taught in these institutions free of charge. From a humble beginning of a personal

Satsang in 1937, at Hyderabad, Sindh Province (now in Pakistan), it has grown into a non-governmental organization (NGO) having consultative status with U.N. affiliates - UNICEF and ECOSOC. This institution is celebrating Shivaratri as 71st Shivajayanti this year by conducting various public functions for disseminating Godly knowledge to the public without any discrimination on the basis of caste, faith, age, gender, educational or social status. Let us all make use of their services for personal and universal transformation, and become partners in God’s enterprise and thus ensure ur presence in the forthcoming new world of spiritual and human values.
