I love to knit, share and read others' stories about knitting, and am always on the lookout for more yarn to stash!
Hi!!!
It has been so long since I posted anything and I will list the excuses now:
1. Ravelry (If I am online, that is where I am; sorry!!)
2. Knitting (If I am not on Ravelry, I am knitting!!)
3. Working
4. Sleeping
5. I have Fibromyalgia, and have been having a difficult time lately
I don't talk about the Fibromyalgia on here; I have made this mainly a knitting blog, but I will tell anyone out there, if you have Fibro, you can email me, I and would be happy to talk to you about it. Also, Ravelry has some AWESOME groups that are Fibromyalgia related (and of course, we talk about knitting, too!!)
Anyway, it has been a collllllllddddd winter here; I think colder than last year, even though we have only had half the snow. I think it must be to cold to snow...lol I am ready for Spring, and I have a long time to go!!
I have had a serious, and I think terminal case of STARTITIS lately. I have cast on no less than 10 new projects, and either laid them aside, or frogged them, and I Still have at least 10 more UFO's besides that.
What I do not have is a case of Finish-it-up-itis, which I will ask the doctor if she can prescribe some for me (got those two terms from Yarn Harlot herself!!)
Let me list my UFO's for you (if I can remember them all). This is in no particular order, just when I remember them...
1. Clapotis
2. Cabled Shawl (1 and 2 are from Noro Silk Garden, and I cannot figure out which one to make, so I started them both; I only have enough yarn for one, so I should figure out which one I am going to do!!)
3. Branching Out Scarf
4. Basic Socks with Noro Silk Garden (turning out BEAUTIFULLY, on size US 3's and 42 stitches cast on, cuff down , 14 stitches on each of 3 DPN's, 1x1 ribbing for a few inches, then basic sock, and flap heel)
5. Basic Sock with Alpaca Sox (beautiful yarn, a bit splitty)
6. Stash-busting afghan, from pattern in magazine, using size 36US and about 7-8 strands of various yarns in garter stitch)... Turning out kind of cool, but is hard work with lg needles.
7. Feather and Fan afghan for my niece (using various purple acrylics from the stash; her fave color, and trying to get rid of acrylics...)
8. Giant knitted doily, I am trying to make a throw... like Jared Flood's Hemlock Ring Blanket, but different pattern... not turning out quite right... don't ask
9. 1/2 finished baby sweater gonna frog that one; is ugly!
10.Zig Zag Socks One complete; severe case SSS
11. Dashing Fingerless Gloves (one complete, severe case of SGS {second glove syndrome})
12. Cardigan
13. Afghan using Vanna's Choice; I like this yarn, for acrylic, I just got bored
14. Lizard Ridge Afghan (did one square; got bored).. I will definitely pick this up again, though, it is FUN!!
15. Fake Isle hat Noro Silk Garden
16. Afghan (2), one for each kid of mine.. hideous neon colors, I wanna puke when I knit on them!!
17. Feather and Fan Wrap; kinda like it, using one strand laceweight alpaca, and one strand laceweight mohair
18.Feather and Fan Wrap; using fingering weight beautiul natrual chocolate brown baby alpaca, handspun in Colorado
19. Ballband Dishcloth; I finished one, started the second, and got bored.
20. felted purse; I felted it, and just need to felt again and shape it a little and put on the straps.
Oh, my!! I really didn't think I could come up with 20 UFO's... Scary!!!!!
Well, I better go get the kids up for school!!! I will try to post more regularly!!! Come see my pics on Ravelry. I am maryskymom!!!
Happy Knitting!!

Here is a pic of hubby and me, in case anyone wondered what we looked like!!!
Hello!!! As usual, I have been bad about posting on here; mainly due to lots of knitting being done, and my Fibromyalgia has been acting up lately...
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well, and getting ready for Christmas! I still have a lot left to do, but I am sure it will all get done! Here is a picture of my 1st Clapotis I finished. The second one is already OTN and halfway done! I love this pattern, and I have worn it A LOT lately!! I mostly wear it as a thick scarf, and it looks good that way. You can also use it as a shawl too!! Very versatile, and easy pattern. I used Noro Silk Garden I love this yarn!!!)
I was a little skeptical at first, because it is a bit scratchy right out of the skein, but it softens up in the wash. I washed in the machine on the Hand Wash cycle with Eucalan, and air dried, and it came out beautifully!!
Well, I need to go finish up a pr of socks! I have procrastinated on them a lot lately, and need to get them done, so I can start another pair!!
Happy Holidays to everyone!
Happy Knitting,
Kelly
Hello! I have been busy starting project after project! I finished another pair of Fetchings, in aqua green alpaca, and they turned out great!
Here is a pic of my almost halfway done "Branching Out" Scarf, from Knitty.com. I am using hand-dyed, laceweight merino, and it is turning out beautifully! It is my first lace project that I think I will actually finish, though it does take some time to see results because the yarn is so fine!!
The Jaywalker Crisis is another story. I almost finished the heel flap, when it occurred to me that these socks would not fit a 3 yr old! So, I am going to frog them, and maybe make another pair, or just scrap em altogether. I love the pattern, but hate when the directions do not fit the size they are supposed to. grrrrr.
Well, we got 6 inches of snow today! I am glad! I love winter, and am glad to see the snow finally! It sure is cold, though! It was about 18F degrees here.
What has everyone been knitting? I always love to hear about new projects people are doing!!!
If I have not said already, I am on Ravelry, and my name is maryskymom... Come on in and see my stuff!!! I haven't taken pics of all my projects or stash, mainly because if I did that, I would not have any time to knit anything!!!
Well, off to see what new projects I can start!!!
Happy Knitting!!!

Here is a pic of the Jaywalkers I am making; almost halfway done with the first one.
I love these colors; Cherry Tree Hill "winterberry" colorway. The deep purples, pinks and blues are my fave colors!
This is a very fun pattern and easy to knit, too. I highly recommend it!!
Happy Knitting!!

Here is Mr. Felix McCheese (last name because he loves to eat cheese).. He is my cute Pekingese, and he is modeling the Second Clapotis I am making. This one is also in Noro Silk Garden, beautiful Colorway I think.
Happy Knitting!!
