Full of Blog is dedicated to just flat out complaining and making the world a better place.
Well, I have to say that Fred Thompson running for President may change my views a little. First of all, he knows what to say and how to handle the masses of people craving the days of well spoken Presidents. Let's face it, we haven't had one since Clinton left office and before taht would be Reagan. Thompson has a lot in personal and professional commonalities with Reagan. Don't get me wrong, I know that Reagan just about ran us into the poorhouse, but at least we felt good on the way there. I will be keeping an eye on this particular candidate just because he is such a likeable guy and is truly more down to earth than most of the others. The Dems are throwing out Clinton, OBama, and Edwards to the forefront. All are very interesting, but I am not sure how I really feel about them. Sure, it would be interesting if Clinton gets the nod, ya know first female Pres and the Ex-Pres is now the First Husband. Maybe he could handle some of the foreign affair issues we have, ya know, like the one where everybody on the planet hates the US. He could fly out to some of these countries, meet the heads of state, smoke some weed, play the sax, and maybe get them to change their policy towards the US. Obama is interesting as well, but I think he is 1 - 2 terms out before he moves up to the top spot. And that leaves Edwards. I'm really lukewarm on that one, I mean hell he kicked in the sympathy card way early in the ride. No warm and fuzzy there.
Then the Reps have McCain and Guililani apparently in the lead. McCain has had several good points about how things should work over the years, but he rarely manages to get anything done. He also tends to show his short temper at the most public time possible. I do believe in the guy, but not sure if a short tempered fella with the "key code" is the right person to be Pres. Then Rudy, what to say about Rudy. Well, that's a tough one too. He did do great things for NYC and took them from the pits to be a vital city after years of decline. He also has all of that free publicity from the 911 attacks. But his foreign affair experience will be subpar.
This all seems to be heading to one direction, Thompson versus Gore. There has been a semi-quiet movement to get Gore back on the ticket and let's face it, he is on top of the world for once. He couldn't be in a better position than he is right now. He is from the "Clinton Era" and would give people that feeling without having to ingest that whole Hilliary thing.
Funny thing is that the two top people from the two top parties are Hollywood. Gore and his recent award winning film and Thompson with several TV shows and movies. They have facetime, more importantly, free airtime, very free. People talk about them without them asking. What could be better for these two people?
