I took this directly from an article by William Frank Diedrich, who says...

"Years ago there was an incident where I fell off a horse. It was running fast, and I, being inexperienced, couldn't handle it. At first, I blamed the horse. I thought the lesson was, "Don't ride horses." Later I blamed the horse's owner. Then I thought the lesson was, "Don't ride horses owned by people who don't train them right." Finally I took responsibility and realized that the horse didn't throw me. It was doing what most horses love to do--run. The truth was, I let go. All I could think of was: "Get me off this horse." I received my wish."

Frank got his wish. In life, we all get our wish. Whatever we might think we want, our actions determine what we get, and we choose our actions. We may not like our exterior circumstances, and we cannot control floods, earthquakes and some disease, but what we do with the cards we are dealt is 100% up to us. We get the results we wish for. If you want to change your wish, change your actions. You will get what you wish for.

BOREDOM

Some people are overwhelmed with a busy schedule while others struggle with boredom. Some suffer from both, which is like getting hit with a double whammy.

One of the best solutions to boredom is to socialize. Sure, you might love to spend hours in front of the TV or the computer, but for the most part it's just a distraction from being bored (yes, sometimes it is entertaining, but mostly it's a mindless way to forget how bored we are).

When we socialize, we engage our minds and our hearts. We act and react. We connect with other people which is never boring (unless someone drones on and on and on and on, which is not a two-way interaction).

You don't have to carry on complex discussions about obtuse topics like the role of the African dung beetle in the fall of the Roman Empire (although that counts as socialization, too). A game of pool or bowling or cards or just lounging around chatting about the weather, the stars and the garden will do.

The best part about socialization is that by stamping out your own boredom you can stamp out other people's too.

For What Reason

Death Cab For Cutie

This won't be the last you'll hear from me... it's just the start

I hope that he keeps you up for weeks like you did to me.

I will hold a candle up to you to singe your skin

Brace yourself... I'm bent with bitterness

I can't foresee.

When your apologies fail to ring true,

(You're) so slick with that sarcastic slew of phrases like 'I thought you knew',

while keeping me in hot pursuit.

Tracing the plot finds skin touching skin

Absence follows.

In the end I win every time as ink remains.

Sour tastes prevail as you play back the tape machine.

When your apologies fail to ring true,

(You're) so slick with that sarcastic slew of phrases like 'I thought you knew',

while keeping me in hot pursuit.

Tracing the plot finds skin touching skin

Absence follows.

For all you Hed Kandi fans out there - check out Es Vive Ibiza 2006. Great songs by Jesus Jackson, Andy Cato, Fatboy Slim and my personal favorite.... Bonnie Bailey with another song to groove to...

KINGDOM OF PRETTY

STROLLIN THROUGH
ELYSIAN FIELDS WITH YOU
OUR LUSH
FIRST HYPNOTIC PHASE
COOING WORDS MELTIN'
ICE GLACIERS KEEP ME
TURNING TO THE NEXT PAGE
chorus
EVERYDAY IS OUR FIRST TIME FOR SOMETHING NEW
AS COMPELLING AS YOU ARE TO ME I AM TO YOU
CURIOSITY HAS ME PEEKING THROUGH
YOUR KINGDOM OF PRETTY

YOU FEEL FAMILIAR
A COMFORT THAT COMES WITH YEARS
SPARKLES FLUSH MY SKIN EYES SWELL UP IN TEARS
AS I TRACE YOUR FOOTSTEPS AROUND THE WORLD
CRUSHIN OVER YOU LIKE A LITTLE GIRL
I FLUTTER AMONG THE BUTTERFLIES

chorus

A FORMLESS FLOW A MAGICAL SYMPHONY
CONSUMED BY THE FRAGRANT POSSIBILITIES
CURIOSITY HAS ME PEEKING THROUGH
YOUR KINGDOM OF PRETTY
YOU’RE SO PRETTY
YOU’RE SO PRETTY

Dashboard Confessional's Dusk and Summer is one fantastic album!!! "Stolen" is a great song. Reminds me of lazy summer days spent in the beach and meeting your special someone there. Doesn't get any better than that...Image
Stolen
We watch the season pull up its own stakes
And catch the last weekend of the last week
Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced,
Another sun soaked season fades away
You have stolen my heart
Invitation only, grant farewells
Crash the best one, of the best ones
Clear liquor and cloudy eyed, too early to say goodnight
You have stolen my heart
And from the ballroom floor we are in celebration
One good stretch before our hibernation
Our dreams assured and we all, will sleep well
You have stolen
You have stolen my heart
I watch you spin around in the highest heels
You are the best one, of the best ones
We all look like we feel
You have stolen my
You have stolen my heart
