For blessing me with this new day

For inspiring me to be

The best I can within this reality

I praise you

For all the wonderful things that you do

Knowing that on this traveled journey

My precious Lord you and you son walk with me

Motivation

Inspiration

Salvation

Knowing that faith is my fence, my foundation

Uplifting

Anointing

Having such a loving and passionate Lord

One who is truly a wonder, a blessing

So I speak your name loud and clearly

Sharing the beauty of your love and wisdom through my poetry

Through a gift that you have blessed me with

One of faith, wisdom and love, you are such a blessing to me

Speak to my heart softly
Let me capture each syllable
Let the rhythm of your words soothe me
Let me absorb your words of love

Let me feel your words
Because love has captured me
Sent me to a place within your heart
Mind, body and soul

Love became the vision of you
The sweet whispers of your words
The warmth of your caress
The tenderness of your kiss

Within each stolen moment
We find pleasure and passion
Through love’s eternal bliss
We share a love blessed by our hearts

Caress its chambers with your melody
I am your willing instrument
Strum the recesses of my mind with your words

Kiss me with your tenderness
My body hungers for your touch
Lost in your absence
Longing to be sated by your gentleness

You are the epitome of my intimate epiphany
A celestial manifestation of my divine reality
Your love embraces every part of me
Bringing clarity to my at times chaotic heart

Time stands still in our presence
The very heavens seem to open when we make love
Our souls unite in sweet communion
A glorious expression of our love

President Barack Obama
44th U.S. President

We speak of this taken path
We reminisce about this journey
And those who paved this road
As we change the images and sounds of history

From the days of injustice
Change has now embraced us
And what we do as a nation today
To overcome the troubles of yesterday

The presidency
Is about this loved country
And what we can do as Americans
To bring her strength and stability

This journey
From the days of slavery
To the fights of freedom and civil rights
To the plights of this 21st century

On this oath we are united
Not by color but by unity
Together living in this great nation
Uplifting and reconstructing this economy

Promises have been made
To give this land a financial up-grade
To make sure that everyone has the opportunity
To live a life that our precious Lord wanted it to be

So I stand tall and proud
As I look out amongst the crowd
And I hear the echoes of change flowing through the D.C. air
A united cheer of hope that surrounds the skies everywhere

Yes history was made today
Fueled by our leaders of yesterday
Their dreams their possibilities
Brought truth to light and now it has become one man’s reality

On this day we embrace history
And echo the words “land of opportunity”
Because the meaning of this day
If you believe in yourself there is nothing on this earth that you can’t be

Faith
Strive
Inspire
Motivate
Determination
Prayer

And allow God to guide you….

This day is a day for history…

Capturing the minds of society
History that changes in a positive way
Accepting solutions universally
New ideas that will heal
Growing together as a country
Embracing the path of yesterday together bringing a new today

A Dream in Stages "MLK Jr. Day": A Dream in Stages

I look upon this earth
And I see the plights of the black man’s worth
As we marched for so many things
That should have been ours at birth

Even through the essence
Of civil rights and freedom
We as African Americans
Must not forget where we came from

The path we have taken
The struggles and strife
The obstacles we have faced
Just to live a equal life

I remember a time
We were denied, lied to, criticized
Misguided. Brutalized, crucified
Just the mention of equality and freedom, many died

Dreams
Can give birth to change
Can take the negative ways of the past
And like the looming of a rose re-arrange

Unity
Equality
Opportunities
Knowing that this is not what our God wanted life to be

I stand upon heaven’s mountaintops
And what a beautiful image I see
The journey that we have faced and the determination
Has given a African American the seat of the presidency

Our legacy
The strength of our ancestry
Has brought new thinking and ideas
To the idle minds of this country

Within the soil of equality
We planted roots of determination
Upon petals of inspiration
We take our rightful place within this nation

And the sadness that is daily
We fight for something that should be ours universally
But as I sit upon heaven’s mountaintops I see
A world now opened to possibilities

To preach the essence of non-violence
But our worst enemy was silence
To live laws made by another
To live by their jurisprudence made to keep asunder

From the beauty of heaven
I celebrate this day with you
With Coretta by my side
We embrace the beauty of this view

Jan 20th 2009 a dream is fulfilled
But there is so much for us to conquer
Knowing that we are driven by the past
And a future paved by our creator

A dream in stages…

My salvation
My source of inspiration
My drive, my motivation
Through Jesus I have a solid foundation

Faith
Wisdom
Releasing me from the devil’s hold
For I have spiritual freedom

Blessed to be embrace by you
Inspired by your love for me
Obedient to your words and wisdom
For Jesus has paved a path for me

In life
There will be confrontations
A test of my faith
But with the guidance of Jesus I face all situations

Knowing that I have the greatest force
Known to heaven and man
For Jesus is my fence
That protects me as I journey through this land

I ask of thee
To watch over me
To instill in me
All the things that my precious Jesus desires for me

For I have faith
That grows each day
For I have the radiance of Jesus
And in his name I pray

Amen….
