Gmail Invitation
Image

Image
I started using  Gmail since 30 June, 2004. I remembered, last year, I was so hungry searching around and asking for invitaion. Obviously, the Gmail invitation bids on the ebay was just too hot and a bit expensive for me, at that time.

Over the year, more and more people got their own Gmail account, and a lots spare invitation also. So, why not just give out. Don't let the invitation stale.

I have quite number of Gmail invitation to give out. Anyone? Leave your comments to let me know your email address. You can also send me email.

Regards,

P.S. If you feel the above Gmail icons are cool, again, do-it-yourself using this  nice  online tool: Email Signature Generator (from Playtime), or this one: E-mail Icon Generator.
BTW, my icons are not directly generated using the online generator. I feel the color is too light, therefore, I edited them using Photoshop.

Flickr Badge
Image

PREAMBLE: Although the below badge labeled with "photographer", I am not actually a photographer, just a dumn digital camera user :)  If you have time, take a look my photos on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/yongfeng. Especially the photo set: My Son's Photos taken fr. Mobile Phone

This is my newly created Flickr badge. Looks cool?! You can do-it-yourself using this nice online tool:  Unofficial Flickr Badge Maker

Em... Only the signature is left empty. I have created a cute one:

But at the moment, I could not find a suitable graphic editor, though I have tried the SnagIt Editor and GIMP 2. GIMP 2 is fine, I was able to insert the signature into the badge, but the quality of the final exported image is not so good. It is actually obvious: since the original generated badge is alreay in JPEG format , any further manipulation will drop the quality. I will try PhotoShop CS2 sometimes later. Hopefully get better quality one. Anyway, I just post the GIMP edited badge (with the signature) here:

Page Rank Checker - Yet Another Nice Badge
Page Rank Checker - Yet Another Nice Badge magnify
It's long time,  I studied the algorithm of PageRank in one of my university course in year 2000-2001. That was a level4000 course offered by School of Computing in NUS called "Text Processing on the Web" (now, changed to level5000). I was impressed at that moment. Later, as we all know, PageRank rapidly shown its power. It accelerated the growth of Google (note: the link is pointing to the Google Suggest page, it provides the auto-complete kind of  instant suggestion of related word when you typing, try it!) in an amazing speed. I would say, without the PageRank, we won't see today's Google.

Ok, enough. I don't want to talk about Google too much. There are plenty alreay. What we see today is a small cool badge which shows the PageRank dynamically for the website. It looks like the following:
Page Rank Checker     or     Page Rank Checker

You can get the detail instruction from the officak website of the provider prchecker.info. Basically just add a piece of HTML code (i.e. just a simple image anchor link)  inside your web page. See one of the real exampel at GmailTools.com (at middle of the right side column)

If you see my ranking as "0", I would assume my blog is not popular enough to deserve a higher rank. I will catch up :)

Create Your Own Polaroid Picture
Have u heard of Polaroid-o-nizer? An online image editing tool which puts any image in the form of a polaroid picture.

The image you are trying to produce must be online, i.e. not uploading from your local machine!! But, it should not be a big problem if u using ImageShack, a reliable and free online image hosting service. The good point of ImageShack is users can create their own so they could easily manage their image (view, delete, etc), whereas most of  other free image hosting services are working in a maner of post-it-and-forget-it.

Use it as name tag?! Go and create one :)

See the exapmle below:

This is my image thumbnail (click it to see the enlarged copy) hosted in ImageShack:     This is online generated polaroid picture:
