My Last Blog on Yahoo! 360

In case you haven't heard by now, Yahoo has announced that it is finally closing 360 on July 13, 2009. I've been on 360 since July 2005 and it has been a good run. With nearly 350 blog entries and almost 700,000 page views, it has been sad to see 360 wither away due to Yahoo’s neglect.

I've met some very interesting people and I've also come across some people that make me wish I could turn back the clock and avoid them all together. One person who hadn't bothered me for 2 years felt the need to mention me in a blog this week, but I'm leaving behind mostly good memories about this place.

The new profile system is a joke, so I won't be using it much. I've moved my blog over there, but Yahoo botched the transition of our friends list. Only about one quarter of my 360 friends were able to connect with me and the new blog feature.

I know many of you have gone on to sites like Multiply and MySpace. As for me, I'm firmly entrenched at Facebook and Twitter. If you want to connect with me at either of those places, here are the links:

It has been a pleasure meeting you all and I hope to see you on Facebook or Twitter.

As many of you know, Yahoo announced last year that it was "transitioning" 360 to a "universal profile system". In other words, 360 is going away and they won't be fixing any more of those annoying bugs. If you rummage through the 360 team blog, you will see that this new profile system was supposed to be ready about 6 to 9 months ago. Then it was coming out in the "second half" of 2008. It still hasn't happened and 360 has become a ghost town.

Yahoo announces it's 3Q results in about 2 weeks. I am hoping that Yahoo has something to say about replacement for 360, but I am not going to hold my breath. Until Yahoo has something significant to say, I'm taking a break from blogging. Until then, you can find me here:

Join My Community at MyBloglog!

MyBlogLog can be described as a social network for bloggers, but it is not a blogging platform. It allows bloggers to place a “widget” that let's you see which MyBlogLog members have recently visited a blog. Users can also join each other's communities and send messages to other MyBlogLog members. It is like leaving a digital calling card. A reader need not leave a comment to say that they’ve dropped by. For someone who blogs professionally like me, it gives me a way to track blog access statistics like what search terms some uses to find my blog. On my profile, you'll find the other places where I network such as Facebook, Myspace and Twitter.

I'm not leaving 360, at least not yet. I just won't be blogging. I'll still updated my blast and visit pages from time to time, but it's hard to be enthusiastic about 360 anymore.

The economy is driving my business through the roof. Just yesterday, I filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy to delay a foreclosure against the home of a 78-year-old woman with an Alzheimer's the dementia. And to think it is only Wednesday morning.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting back to my writing and sharing. Open Mike Friday will return this week, but let me know if you have any desires to have me address any topics in the upcoming weeks.

New Nigerian Bank Scam?

Dear American:

I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship with a transfer of funds of great magnitude.

I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country has had crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds of 800 billion dollars US. If you would assist me in this transfer, it would be most profitable to you.

I am working with Mr. Phil Gram, lobbyist for UBS, who will be my replacement as Ministry of the Treasury in January. As a Senator, you may know him as the leader of the American banking deregulation movement in the 1990s. This transactin is 100% safe.

This is a matter of great urgency. We need a blank check. We need the funds as quickly as possible. We cannot directly transfer these funds in the names of our close friends because we are constantly under surveillance. My family lawyer advised me that I should look for a reliable and trustworthy person who will act as a next of kin so the funds can be transferred.

Please reply with all of your bank account, IRA and college fund account numbers and those of your children and grandchildren to wallstreetbailout@treasury.gov so that we may transfer your commission for this transaction. After I receive that information, I will respond with detailed information about safeguards that will be used to protect the funds.

Yours Faithfully Minister of Treasury Paulson

Henry Merritt "Hank" Paulson Jr. is the United States Treasury Secretary and member of the International Monetary Fund Board of Governors. He previously served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs.

Short Sales
While on a trip to New York in June, a local news station called my office to see if I could participate in a discuss about short sales, foreclosures and the local economy. My flight landed at about 2:00 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon and Lisa drove me directly from the airport to the TV studio. I've editted out the commercials, but the tape is still 24 minutes long. So if you are curious about what I do and have some time to spare, here is the video:
