Looking to connect with a few more chaotic souls...
Life is full of surprises.
This incident took place a few days back.
I wanted to go to a mall to do some shopping. And this time around I skipped wearing my helmet. Now helmet is compulsory in Ahmedabad, but I had seen so many ppl driving without it. So i was like....what the heck...
But after i started off, I had a feeling that I might end up paying a fine. And well....I was caught by traffic police just 2 mins from the mall. He asked for my license. I never carry the original out of fearing of having to stand in long ques to have a duplicate made, in case I lose the original.
So that was a second mistake. No helmet. No original license. I made an excuse...showed my Doc's registration and told him that I had to leave because I had an emergency call from XYZ hospital.
The cop considered and I got away by paying "unofficial" fine of 50rs.
Now, i has this another feeling. What if I am caught second time while returning back home ? I dont even have a "fine receipt" with me.
But then I asked myself, what are the chances of getting caught twice on the same day within a span of 30 mins...Negligible...well...yeah.
But seems it was my day after all. I was caught the second time, this time near my home. Again the same arguments and explanations. I told the cop that I had already paid "unofficial' fine at so n so place...
He looked at me and at my Doc's registration card and let me go.
Phew!!!!!!
Atleast finally some "imandari and dariyadili" shown my the corrupt cops. ( Though I also had a role in paying the bribe...lol...)
But well...an experience I shall never forget.
Hi...
I am starting on a very different path on this new space.
Spreading awareness as to how to break and bend the rules of most of the online service providers.
Before the advent of GMail, 8/10 people would have had their accounts on Yahoo!
Even after switching to GMail, most of them would have had to keep their accounts alive for variety of reasons -
1) In case some old aquaintance does not have new GMail id.
2)Yrs of emails stored and saved in Yahoo!
some of official use...others of sentimental value.
Now, Yahoo! does not provide free POP access like GMail, which in layman terms means that you can't download the mails in your Yahoo! account on to your computer.
So what would you do if you wanted to fwd all ur Yahoo! mails to the GMail account.
Someone might say, well....just sit and start fwding all mails one by one.
What a tedious process and also it would not make sense.
Why ? Becoz....when i fwd any email from my Yahoo! id to GMail id, then in my GMail account, the mail would have shown to have come from my Yahoo! id and not from the orginal id(person) from whom i had received the email.
Is there a workaround ? ---- Hell YES.
Is it easy ? ----- Its like blinking a couple of times.
How ? --- Lets start.
First we must visit this page and download YPOP!
After that you must configure ur email client ( Outlook, Outlook Exp or Thunderbird, etc... )
The Instructions can be found here - Configure Your Email Client
Now you are all set to use free POP access on Yahoo Mail.
And it is COMPLETELY LEGAL.
You can also choose to download selected folders from ur yahoo account. Simply open YPOP and click on "download folders". Type the name of the folder on the right side and click "Add".
Now you are all set and ready to go....
Next post will be about - How to send all the downloaded Yahoo mails to your GMail in one single step ? And the mails will appear to have arrived from the "original sender" and not from your Yahoo! id and also GMail will automatically sort it as "conservations".
Do help in spreading the knowledge.
All the information here has been collected from various internet sources and a book called "Google Hacks"
P.S. - I just fwded 300 mails from my yahoo to GMail....
Finally, I have called it a day on mystifier.rediffblogs.com
I really loved that space and I still do.
But it was time for a change..something new...and something exciting.
360 degrees looks like it can provide the necessary ingredients.
As some Roman Emperor would have said - "Let the Games begin. "
Finally.
Decided that I am gonna move from rediff.
This place is gonna require ppl to have Yahoo! Id in order to be able to comment, but then i think everyone has a Yahoo Id these days. So that shouldnt be a problem.
I like the feature of having a seperate "Lists" feature.
Also seperate "Reviews"
Should be writing a review soon....as soon as i watch Superman Returns.
till then....
