I am running a poll on my archaeology project blog. Vote to help me pick the best archaeology picture from the project so we can select a submission for the Society for Historical Archaeology photography contest!
Now that I am putting in about 100 miles a week on the bike, life seems a bit easier to deal with.
I withdrew my edited volume from the publisher that was dragging their feet and sent it out to a new publishing house. Hopefully they are more professional. I am also ready to start revising the journal article that didn't go over as planned. I need to spend more time putting my research in the context of a pretty haphazard salvage operation so it is more clear that there is a lot that can't be done with the site.
There is another speedbump coming up in the road. I will be spending a bit of time traveling for some consulting work and I am not sure yet how to keep up the training while on the road. I have a few weeks before this kicks in so I have to treat it as a problem to solve, not a reason to slack.
Hit a major speed bump of life this past week and got quite derailed. Needed to take a few days away from everything. Everything except cycling o'course. I got in about 100 miles of stress relief riding this week which puts me right back on the training schedule for the September century (100mile) ride.
The plan is to be back to work on Monday and to try to get back on track with the publications as soon as possible.
I am preparing journal article #2 for the mail right now. As much of a pain that it was to submit article #1 via an online system, it was much better than printing out 4 copies of a 30 page manuscript (double spaced) and having to trek it to the post office.
