San Andreas Fault
San Andreas Fault magnify

In a striking example of synchronicity, after I posted about The History Channel's programming on Saturday, I turned on the TV and they were running several of the How the Earth Was Made. And what did I get to see? The program about the San Andreas Fault, that line running through California (where I live) that scientists believe is responsible for many of the state's infamous earthquakes. The warning of "The Big One" in the next 30 years was touched upon. The reason for the horrible quake damage? Serpentine - talc. It seems we've built so many of our skyscrapers, schools, and hospitals on rock and earth that will reduce to talc when put under stress (plate movements).

It reminds me to get my emergency water and TP supply back up to a good quantity. The springtime is a good chance to get all the supplies we might need. Make sure you're 'ready' before summer...

No, I wouldn't leave Southern Calif. because of earthquakes. They can actually be quite an adrenaline rush - yes, they're sort of fun. And if I've done my best to prepare by having enough supplies for a week or so, secured heavy furniture, and gone over plans of what to do if it happens, I can put it out of my thoughts. End of story.

How the Earth Was Made on The History Channel
How the Earth Was Made on The History Channel magnify
How the Earth Was Made is a new program on The History Channel. I've seen the first 2 and I recommend it highly. LINK

The first show was about Mariana's Trench, the deepest point in the oceans, and the second program was about Krakatoa, the immense volcano.

As much as those scientists may hate to hear this, I recognize some links between facts presented on the TV show and the esoteric teachings which I have read of in the books of the Theosophists, Rosicrucians, Manly P. Hall, and many other sacred texts. For example, the electro-magnetic force deep in the planet is also seen throughout the universe and, amazingly, even in our bodies. When all the information is absorbed, it seems to form, for me, a 'blanket of knowledge' which stretches from various subjects previously considered unrelated. Did you know that beneath the sea, near Mariana's Trench, there are magnetic "zebra stripes" of layers of the earth's cooled matter formed from the motion of the tectonic plates?

This stuff is fascinating!

Crown Jewels
Crown Jewels magnify

While thinking about the gem fair, I decided to Google crown jewels. Can you imagine? The crown belongs to the Tehran Collection. Now, I really do want to get my mind of politics right now. Just finished "Family of Secrets" by Russ Baker. Bushes have left me soaked to the bone in secrets, power, dirty tricks, mayhem, tantrums, and arrogance.

Anyway, I did notice that Iran has some of the most eye-catching of the crown jewel images I saw on my virtual tour. Would I want to possess some of those jewels? Would you? I would not. I could not stand having something like that in my hands knowing that so many people are starving or needing medical care, especially children. I'm embarassed to even get out of a limosine. I'm just a regular ol' girl, one of the people.

It does make me think about wealth and resources, though. It's easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into heaven. That's the bible quote - Matthew 19:24. I once read someone's opinion that for every rich guy (or girl), there is someone who was tricked or deceived out of money. I don't think that is true - I do know of a few very nice, kind wealthy people. But when you think of Madoff and other rich criminals who prey on others for the sake of their wealth obsession, it makes one think there might be a bit of truth to that statement. And when you hear of stars, celebs, or "royalty" throwing phones or yelling at their assistants, etc., it sort of makes you want to roll your eyes and think, "There's another spoiled bully."

I personally wouldn't want wealth because I have a hard enough time learning to trust again, and having to wonder if someone was after my money instead of my love or friendship would drive me nuts. I wouldn't want to worry about my kids being kidnapped. I wouldn't want to worry about my kids being spoiled or feeling there was no way they could live up to my example.

Money doesn't buy happiness either. Some might try to argue that one. But nope. The actual feeling of happiness or contentment just settles on you, no matter what you do or don't have, or who you are or aren't with. If you're out of touch with your happiness, things might be too busy and complicated. Do you need to simplify? Are you still the genuine you? It's too easy to grow away from it.

Anyway, have a good weekend. And when does baseball season start?

Thinning Down the Tarot Collection
Thinning Down the Tarot Collection magnify
I haven't even counted how many decks I have in my collection for years. I recall it being in the '40s about 20 years ago. After looking through a U.S. Games catalog, one can see this is only a scratch on the deep, rich surface of the body of tarot.

I've sold about 8 or 10 via ebay. I still have too many. For some odd reason, I have been thinking of how much stuff my kids will have to go through one day when I leave my "earthly garment" behind (aka 'die'). It would be nice if the collection could be stashed someplace where I could take possession again upon my next incarnation. (You'd be surprised what has been done in the name of research and reincarnation!)

I guess I'll list my Deva Tarot Deck. It is an unusual one since there is the addition of a 5th suit, the Triax. Triax represents the element of Spirit. Fire, Earth, Air, Water, and Spirit.

The meaning of the Ace of Triax reads:

"Upright: The source of all ideas and ideals that might come into being. All becomes possible."

This sounds very much like a Sword-ian thing to me. Maybe I'll do some additional reading through the small booklet that came with the deck. The art work is beautiful on the cards. The creators, Herta Drnec and Roberta Lanphere, did not intend for the deck to be used in 'fortune-telling'. It is a tool of reflection and self exploration. Know Thyself.

GOP on The Economy and the ARRA

The GOP is now engaged in a propaganda campaign to 'celebrate' their victory of no House Repubs. voting with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Are they getting so used to being unsuccessful that they can't tell the difference between a victory and defeat?

Well, anyway, McCain is out there criticizing the ARRA. Do you remember what he said about the economy a few months ago? He said the economy was basically stable. And remember that the Bush deregulation of 8 years brought us all here. And this giving over of taxpayer's resources to "Wall Street" began with Reagan.

Basically, this reminds me that we're headed in a completely different direction now. I hear that things will get worse before they get better. Yes, it will take time. But we're moving on the right path. And remember that we still have to be active. We got our man elected, now we have to pry the country out of the clutches of the "Wall Street" bunch. Reagan allowed the sale of the country to take place. We have to take it back. Stop "rescuing" the financial crooks. They're just ripping off our taxpayer money and allowed to continue, they might eat away at the Social Security money - then Bush and GOP would get their wish - shut down Social Security.

Keep up the fight. Stay informed and involved!

BTW, if you're looking for some factual history, check out Russ Baker's book, 'Family of Secrets'. It is a thick book and I'm only half way through. Mr. Baker has done an outstanding job checking facts such as dates and places, etc. The Bush family has been in the thick of stealing this country from the people since the early 20th century. The secretive, questionable dealings they have had leaves me ready to be sure no other Bush is ever in a place of power in America. The ties to people involved with the Kennedy assassination is astounding. I highly recommend this book.
