Hello everyone. Welcome to my blog. I write about my family and friends. All stories are true. I couldn't make this up.
Happy 4th ofJuly everyone!! Hope y'all survived the fireworks. I am at Little Sisters house today. We are doing the cook out thing. The chicken is on the grill and it's smelling delicious! I am so hungry!! Let me try to get everyone caught up. I've been real busy at work here lately, been doing a lot of overtime. We have a LOT of cases to review and process.
On July 19th I will be in Chattanooga, I managed to get tickets to Antique Road Show!!!!!!!! I am so excited about going. I have an antique jade ring that I am going to take. Y'all watch for me. I still don't have my computer hooked up at home. Baby Sister is using it right now. As soon as I do get it back I will be able to get on here more often. They have Yahoo blocked at work. There is a way around it but I don't want to get in trouble. So I will just get on here when I can. I really miss telling y'all about my mixed up family.
I think the chicken is done, so I need to go eat. I'll talk to y'all later. I'll tell ya if my ring is worth anything or not. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!
Hi Everyone. I know it's been quite a while since I've been on here, and I do apologize. They blocked us at work from getting on Yahoo. I finally got a home computer but I have loaned it to Baby Sister. Hers died and I didn't have mine hooked up yet so I let her borrow it. I am at her house now. We are having a Chili Supper for my nephew. Thursday was his birthday and he wanted some of Nanny's Chili. She does make some good chili!! I have a little bit of news, I get to go to Birmingham in May. Yeah!! It's for work. I work for the State, in the department of Disability Determination Section. We are the ones that process the Disability Claims. I joined an organization called TADE. It stands for Tennessee Association of Disability Examiners. I am not an examiner, I am a Secretary. There aren't but two clerical in our chapter here in Nashville. Anyway, there is a Regional Conference in Birmingham for May 13th through the 16th. Seeing as how I somehow got elected to an Officer Position, I get to go. I am excited about going to the conference, I just wish it was somewhere more exciting.
The National Conference will be held here in Nashville this year. Last year it was in Sioux Falls SD. I didn't get to go to that one. I know I'll have a great time. It's sort of a mini vacation. There will be a lot of speakers to listen to and I'm sure some of them will test the strength of keeping my eye lids open. One of the speakers will be talking about Autism, that one is the main one I want to hear. Lucas my 6 year old nephew has Autism.
Ok, I reckon I need to go help in the kitchen, I've put it off long enough. I'll be back as soon as I get the chance. I still love all of y'all so don't think I've forgotten ya. Behave and I'll talk to y'all later.....
Happy Wednesday!! The best thing I can say about today is,,,,it's no longer Monday!!! Oh well,,Saturday will be here soon.
I want to tell y'all about Little Sister today. This is the Little Sister that just moved to South Carolina. They got their new house built and finished right before Christmas. They are getting settled in and they love their new house. The other day, Little Sister decided to buy some art work to hang on the walls. She found a print of Picasso's Dream (see link below after the story) and hung it on the wall. She didn't really pay too much attention to the subject matter so much as the colors, it matched her color theme. My 16 year old nephew came home after school and was looking at it. He said, "Uh, Mom, that lady has a boob hanging out." Little Sister looked at it and said, "OH DEAR!!" She thought, it's art, I can live with that. But wait, it gets even better! Then above said nephew looked closer and said, "Uh, Mom, it looks like she is pleasuring herself (his words)" Little Sister looked again and said, "OH!!! DEAR ME!!!" She turned about 10 different shades of red and wanted to crawl through a crack in the floor!! But wait, it gets even better!! She e-mailed our other Little Sister a copy of it and other Little Sister replied with, "Why in the world did you buy a picture of a woman with a penis on her head!?" Little Sister looked at it again and about died!!! She had not noticed it at all!! She called me yesterday and we had a good long laugh about it. She told me, "I thought I was being so sophisticated, buying a Picasso print, and what did I end up with?? A $50 penis! I have a $50 penis hanging on my wall!!!" Brother-In-Law told her to leave it up. He said it's art. She says it's a penis. They will be arguing over this one for a while. It kinda reminds me of THE MAJOR AWARD in A Christmas Story. Ya gotta love your family!! Here is the link to see the picture if you want to. She did a little research on it and Picasso put that in the picture on purpose. http://www.almaleh.com/ecriture/signatures/picasso.jpg.
Y'all be good and I'll talk to ya later.
Good Monday Morning!! Hope everyone had a great week-end!! I actually went out and had a great time Saturday night. Baby Sister came over drug me out of the house kicking and screaming to go and listen to a band she had met the night before. We went to Legend's Bar and Grill in Hermitage. Boy, am I glad I went. The were awesome!! The name of the band is Phoenix Rising. Amy, the lead singer, had enough energy to light a city block all by herself!! Here is a link to their web site: www.prising.com If you get the chance go and check their page out. They did a lot of the old time rock and roll. Now, I haven't been out to a place like that in a long time, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy myself or not........I did!!! Like I said there wasn't a lot of people there and it was a no smoking place. Even though I am a smoker, I've never really liked going to bars because of the smoke. If I am around too much of it I get a bad headache...go figure. The one thing that did happen was (wouldn't you know it) there was one drunk guy there and of course he HAD to attach his self to me and Baby Sister. It all started when he asked me if I had a light. I gave him my lighter thinking he would go outside smoke and then bring me back my lighter,,,,,nope didn't happen. He wanted to give me a hug, well he did give me a hug. He hugged a little too long and I had to put my hand on his shoulder and push him away. I said "That's enough" Then he light his cigarette right there and put my lighter in his pocket and went back to his table. Ok, no smoking in the place. I figured the cigarette Po-Po would come take him away. Baby Sister looked at me and said. "As long as he doesn't sit at our table, I don't care what he does." True enough. About 20 minutes later I had to go to the ladies room. When I come back out, what do I see?? Mr. Drunk Lighter Stealer is sitting with Baby Sister. Ok, now I am thinking, do I go right back to our table and rescue her or do I take a seat behind her and watch the fun???? Yes!! I went back to the table and rescued her, sort of. I didn't say a whole lot, just kept looking at her and laughing. Mr. Drunk Lighter Stealer was telling her how beautiful she was and how pretty her eyes were. He kept asking her to dance but she kept saying no. I just kept laughing!! When the band was finished for the night, we were talking to Brady, the bass player. Mr. Drunk Lighter Stealer was standing behind us like he was waiting for us or something. After a few minutes, Brady suggested he walk us to our car,,,,bless his heart!! We left and talked to Brady out side for a few minutes. Mr. D. L. S. was no where to be seen. we made it out safe and sound!!!! Yea Brady!! That was the first time I had been out in a while and I have to admit that I had a blast. Please don't forget to check out their web page. Let them know you read about them here. If they are anywhere near you and you like rock & roll go see them!!!!
Y'all be good and I'll talk to ya later!!
