so - - i haven't updated this blog in a while... attaching a pic of my new doggy, Colby.

he's sorta filling the shoes of the beloved chathamdog (miss ya, babe). Bobo likes Colby - - but he's not totally convinced that this is an upgrade, since chatchat was his best friend for several years, and colbs is just so big and goofy. besides -- chat had his shit together, and colby eats bobo's food. bowdoin is just not sold yet.

But colby is so freaking psyched -- he gets the run of the house, sleeping on a gigantic king sized bed, and more treats than he would have ever imagined. he's a sweetheart and he's getting his confidence back. such a treat to find a dog like this -- so special and deserving!

anyway -- happy summer everyone, enjoy memorial day! we'll be up in montecito, in case anyone is in the area.

fun easter stories

here's the easter round-up...  love the kiddie and doggy stories.  and i suck - i did nothing for my dogs or my friends kids.

my niece spent her first easter (she's now 20 months old) "searching" for plastic eggs hidden in their living room.  they were plopped on top of the couch and in the corner of the room, behind curtains, etc.  They sent a video of her, and it's hilarious.  She's like "what is this wierd shit all over the living room?"  when she picks up an egg, it won't open, so she just keeps saying "open"...  when it finally pops open, there are raisins!  she's like "oooh - - not exciting."  but they didnt want her hyped up on chocolate, so it was a typical photo shoot that's hysterical for adults, but it was lame for Lulu.

The other funny story was my friend, Katt, who buried bones throughout her yard for her two labs.  they went NUTS getting those bones.  But in typical labby-ness, they just kep digging all over the yard.  they wouldn't come inside - - they were like "we know you hid more - - we're not stupid."   so cute.

have any good easter stories to share?  I got to meet meredith's new man, who is just about the nicest guy in the world.  he is a total CATCH!

go granny, go!

so, if you see an ocean green taurus with an older woman driving, BEWARE!

She's maybe 75, with huge sunglasses and a shih-tzu in the front seat.  She has a bunch of MardiGras beads hanging from her mirror.

I passed her this morning on Colorado (legally, used signals, did not even come close to cutting her off), and she went BANANAS.  She tried to run me off the road, then flipped me off.  And if anyone pulls along side of her, she swerves because she thinks you're getting too close.

Enjoy!  And if you do see her, honk and then make a note of what she does.  She's insane.

amazon's personalization is off

So...   I need to lose some weight, but how did amazon know?

i just got an email from their trigger system, and it says

"Dear Amazon.com Customer,

As someone who has purchased books by David Sedaris, you might like to know that The Diet Code : Revolutionary Weight Loss Secrets from Da Vinci and the Golden Ratio will be released soon. You can pre-order your copy at a savings of 37% by following the link below. "

>>>>>>>what the f*** is that about?<<<<<<<<<  that is just about the biggest stretch ever.  David Sedaris and diets?  ummmm.  NO.  maybe a gin and tonic diet.  that's about the only way that combination works.

anyway - - I got a kick out of it.   Does anyone know how to send feedback on this stuff to Amazon?  I couldnt find anything on the site.
